Dear Bessie,

I came by your house today and you weren’t there.  I didn’t know at the time that you had left and were never coming back.  I didn’t know that you had gone home to be with the God of your heart and mind whom you had commited your life and your love to the whole 48 years of your shortened life.  I am glad for you that you are no longer here to experience the pain of  loss, the sorrow of betrayal and the degredation of physical deterioration.  You will forever and always be young, beautiful and in love in the eyes of those who cherished you most, who miss you with all their hearts and need to move forward in this life without you. 

Thank you for your support when I needed it, your truth even when I didn’t want it, your laughter, your example of faith and trust, your appreciation and love, your immense courage, and your raw humanity.  I will never be the same after knowing you and that is a good thing.  I admire the fact that you sustained up until the very end, you didn’t back down and you didn’t allow them to demean you even though that was their wish and their goal.  You were the supreme human being and I am so proud to have called you my friend.
